Kurds are demonstrating against the draft division of Kirkuk to ionizing ratios between the Turkomen and Kurds, Arabs and Assyrians

تظاهر أمام مبنى محافظة كركوك أمس المئات من ممثلي أكثر من 90 منظمة من منظمات المجتمع المدني المدعومة من التحالف الكردستاني للمطالبة بوقف محاولة تمرير مشروع تقسيم كركوك حسب النسبة %32 بأسرع وقت ممكن.

Demonstrated in front of the governorate of Kirkuk yesterday, hundreds of representatives of more than 90 civil society organizations supported by the Kurdistan Alliance to demand an end to attempt to pass the draft division of Kirkuk as 32% ratio as soon as possible.

وندد المتظاهرون بمشروع تقسيم كركوك واعتبروه غير شرعي ومخالفا للدستور العراقي وضد مصلحة أهالي كركوك.

And denounced the draft division of Kirkuk and considered it illegal and unconstitutional and against the interests of the Iraqi people of Kirkuk.

والتقى بعد ذلك ¡ عبد الرحمن مصطفى محافظ كركوك بممثلي المظاهرة الذين طالبوا بالعمل على تنفيذ بنود المادة 140 من الدستور العراقي.

He met later ¡governor Abdul Rahman Mustafa Kirkuk demonstration representatives, who demanded action to implement the provisions of Article 140 of the Iraqi constitution.

وتنص المادة 140 على تطبيع الأوضاع في المناطق المتنازع عليها ومنها مدينة كركوك الغنية بالنفط ¡ وإجراء إحصاء للسكان يعقبه استفتاء لتقرير مصير المدينة في الانضمام إلى إقليم كردستان من عدمه.

Article 140 on the normalization of the situation in the disputed areas, including oil-rich city of Kirkuk ¡conducting a census of the population, followed by a referendum to decide the fate of the city to join the Kurdistan region or not.

وأوضح محافظ كركوك أن العراق الجديد يتوجه نحو الديمقراطية وحرية التعبير وأن المظاهرات حق مكفول للشعب وأن ما يطلبون به سيقدم إلى الجهات العليا المعنية.
