Polish PM Terms Unsatisfactory Latest US Offer on Missile Shield

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk says the latest U.S. incentive for Poland to host part of a U.S. missile defense system is unsatisfactory.
The Polish leader told reporters in Warsaw Friday that his country remains open for further talks on the issue. He called the latest U.S. offer to boost Polish air defenses insufficient. Mr. Tusk said any deal must strengthen Poland's security, upgrade its defenses and include permanent deployment of American Patriot anti-missile systems in Poland, instead of only for a year as the U.S. offered....

Russia warns US over missile shield
Russia has said it will use military means if the United States deploys a missile defence shield close to its borders.
The foreign ministry said: "If the real deployment of an American strategic missile defence shield begins close to our borders, then we will be forced to react not with diplomatic methods, but with military-technical methods."

In a statement on Friday, Czech officials declined to link the reduced supply to the deal signed Tuesday in Prague. Still, though the flow of oil can vary for technical reasons, it was clear that the Czechs suspected a connection and intended to ask the Russians to explain the decline...
