Maliki aims to obtain the support of the elections by calling upon a schedule for withdrawal of U.S.

Reuters
Washington: American analysts say that the invitation of Iraqi Prime
Minister Nuri al-Maliki to set a timetable for the withdrawal of U.S.
forces from Iraq seemed a political game involving a risk to win
popular support in the coming elections.

The face-Maliki and
his allies in Baghdad's government a growing challenge from supporters
of the young Shiite leader opposed to the United States Muqtada
al-Sadr, who analysts say that sparked popular hatred of the presence
of U.S. forces maneuvers to win support in local elections that are
expected to take place this autumn.

Analysts say that the
rejection of the presence of U.S. forces has spread widely among
ordinary Iraqi citizens since the looting which prevails following the
invasion in 2003 making it easier for politicians to address the Iraqi
national sentiment calls deceptive withdrawal of American forces.

The
Stephen Biddle of the Council on Foreign Relations that »result of the
Iraqi politicians talking to local audiences about the viciousness of
the occupation and to what extent they wish to terminate it. Then they
say to the Americans secretly (not trip do not trip ... ... No trips)«.

Analysts say that this week it appeared that al-Maliki and
others in his government are playing the same political game by
negotiating a security agreement through the U.S.-Iraqi as saying
publicly that he could not conclude an agreement without a timetable
for the withdrawal of foreign troops. There are 146 thousand American
troops in Iraq.

Al-Maliki government is also facing a challenge in the general elections which are expected to be held next year.
He
says Samuel Frank of the Center for Strategic and International Studies
that al-Maliki's statements indicate that the Bush administration were
not explicit enough on long-term interests in Iraq.

He added
»Clearly, we make the mistake and we did not seize the opportunity to
reassure Iraqis on our intentions. Now this long-Maliki force to show
that he is no puppet of the United States.« Say analysts and U.S.
officials that they believed that Iraqis ultimately will choose an
agreement to be more vague language to keep troops Perhaps America by
linking its withdrawal fragile conditions on the ground.
