Who's up for a mission if the a dreaded in country only exchange occurs?

If it turned out Iraq was only doing an in country exchange of the IQD how many on this forum would be willing to risk going in country to get their money and probably open an account. I'm dead seroius on this, we get together our dinars and contract (blackwater types Twisted Evil

) a team to get us in country and provide security while on iraqi soil. Is this a possible thing? What would the legal ramifications of this be, if any? It's always good to have a plan B. Any body want to talk offline about this please PM me, unless while discussing it here we all come to a conclusion that it is not a possibility at all.

My guess would be to get into Jordan and enter Iraq in the Kurdish area. This would probably be the best way to do it. I don't remember hearing about Kurds kidnapping or using IED's. It's probably as safe in Kurdistan as anywhere in the Middle East can be. Or, if it is possible, go right to the Baghdad Airport and I bet you could exchange the currency without leaving. Are their any banks near the airport?

I was kind of thinking in the lines of exchange in county, open an account in country and deposit the money while getting our "cool" iraqi credit card while we were at it. I like your idea of exchanging at the airport but we would probably run into some type of problems when coming thru customs in the U.S. with all that money(unless all we had to do was declare it cause it's over 10,000 and be on our merry way).

what i'm thinking is if there were an in country i'd just go to one of the dinar dealers and cash in, they have ties to iraq i would think and they can always ship the buggars for us Cool

Yep. I was thinking Kurdistan also. If I recall correctly I believe an Austrian airline was offering direct flights into Kurdistan from Europe. As Kurdistan is the most secure I would expect it would be the easiest place to go. I wonder if any of our members have actually gone in country in a private capacity, i.e. not affiliated with the military or government, but on your own?

not all
ive bought a couple million on three differant occasions from
reputable establishments at city center mall in DUBAI while takeing a time out from driveing a truck in northern IRAQ, for KBR
THE same goes on in TURKEY, KUWAIT, AND BAHRAIN, IVE SEEN FIRSTHAND, PROBABLY SURROUNDING COUNTRIES ALSO,
but the ban on the DINAR wasnt in full force yet while i was there.

Why do you even start this garbage, just because they have talked in the past about smuggled dinars from country, how do you know that it is a problem of that magnitude? Rolling Eyes

Man the garbage is sure flying high as of late, Lop, reprint, in country exchange, most of all Iraqi currency smuggled out of country, and the beat just goes on. Sure looks like smokescreens being put out big time to me!
