Kuwait and Iraq to discuss war reparations

The Kuwaiti Government announced that it will refer to Parliament to discuss the issue of writing off Iraq’s debts and meet with the United Nations officials to confer about the possibility of canceling war reparations. Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Khaled Jarallah noted that Iraqi officials are aware of Kuwait’s stand towards these issues.
“There is a meeting very soon with the Iraqi side, under the supervision of officials responsible for compensation at the United Nations to look into this issue in which the Security Council has the ultimate say,” Jarallah said
