And you have just proved Phil Gramm's words to be true.

The Indians have their own soveriegn governments, run by themselves, and free from US tax authority.
The Blacks have been free for 150 years...That's 2-3 generation now.
The Mexican's have their own country but choose to live here because their own counrty is third world, run by crooks. Come to think of it, so are we.

We have become a lazy nation, by and large, due to the prosperity we have enjoyed for too many years. Too many people have become too dependant on the public teet. If they don't get the free check that got stolen from people who work, they find someone to sue.

Cry somewhere else. If Obama gets elected, the only change you will see, is what's left in your pocket.

The taxes I paid last year was more than enough to take care of at least two complete households, and at far above the poverty level, and then some.

Personally speaking, my family's (fortune.. ha) is down about 450 grand between our IRAs, SEPs, 401 Ks, 529 plans, etc.. and just from the 3rd quarter of last year. Luckily our house is still holding it's value for the time being unlike many of my Cali friends.

We are obviously all concerned about the economy, and you are 100% right that what is being done now is not working.

For my 2 cents worth, I'll make a start;

The biggest thing killing our economy is the record pace that we are pursuing to become the greenest country on earth. We have jumped on every band wagon, without checking to see that hubs on the axle are fastened. Many warned of the financial ruin in the early 90's the going to fast would take us over a cliff.

There is no compromise allowed from the environmental movement unless it to compromise their way. We conservatives (hopefully I am speaking for the masses on our side) are not out to ruin the planet as we are so bludgeoned by the media.

Our ideas ideals (Conservatives, not Republican) are to go at developing new alternatives while also increasing our efficiency with what we have. The only refinery allowed to be built in the US is some 13 years behind schedule because environmentalist road blocks have been purposely kept it from opening by changing regulations faster than permits can be obtained. All the while, we have lost half of our refineries. This is more key than the oil in the ground. With 17 formuls for gas, and as many for diesel, we have the most inefficient system in the world to refine oil for use.

We desparately need some of these laws relaxed, temporarily if possible, while other modes of efficient fuels can be made to work properly. Using food for fuel has got to be the most assinine of them all. It completely is self defeating, yet our congress won't do anything about it because they are owned, obliged, and self invested in it.

We have environmentalists that have gotten congress to legislate lightbulds that are only produced in China (our money going overseas), and are highly toxic (mercury). China is getting rich, and we are getting poor. And they are outraged that China sends a small amount of toys here with lead. So congress legislates mercury into our country permanently...as in forever.

The lemmings of the US just keep voting in these crooks that have no real interest other than congress' own pockets.

I will give the environmentalist credit for two things. They are far more well funded that I am, and that money buys them so much airtime and press, that they end up being better salespeople than I am. (I'm not jealous, just pissed).

Pissed on and pissed off that we have become a country of snake oil customers.

So keep voting for the environmentally owned. They and their bank accounts are growing while yours and mine going in opposite direstions.

Okay, so it a buck's worth, not 2 cents.

There is no country on earth where individuals belonging to the groups you mentioned could enjoy the freedom from oppression and economic opportunity that they find here in the United States.

(PC is the leftist means of stifling free speech, it has nothing to do with what you want to portray.)

Here's how to look at the economic situation. Conservatives generally favor free markets while liberals generally favor more and more government intrusion into the free markets.

The current economic woes are a direct result of government intrusion. Corn subsidies causing an upward trend in global food prices and the suppression of oil production exacerbating the price of gas, both originating from leftist idiots pressuring government. Mortgage downturn resulting from unscrupulous borrowing and lending practices, both of which are supported by the leftist agenda, and the bailing out by government also supported by leftist agenda (the leftist agenda includes discouragment of accountability and responsibility).

The point is, get leftists out of our congress and don't let them in the white house. They will only make things worse.

If you've truly made the decision to get out of the American markets, based on your personal assessment that the markets will trend down in the significant future, that means the profitable thing for investors to do right now is buy into the American markets!
